Thank you Aaron at Catalina Skylights in Tucson. High winds destroyed a skylight and Aaron came out same evening, 8pm. He took measurements and was back the next day to replace. He is committed to his word and customer service. I’d definitely hire him again.

Had a great experience with Aaron and his team. He communicates incredibly well and explains the product and installation thoroughly. They installed 2 tube lights into my kitchen and there was an immediate difference. Also, they are incredibly clean and thorough during the entire project.

Catalina Skylights did an outstanding job with replacing our skylights. They came out the same day to provide a quote. Very professional. They handled all of the logistics with manufacturing the skylights, transporting them to the house, and hiring a crane operator to install. Highly recommend.

Aaron and his crew did a great job. Aaron took time out on his weekend with very short notice and no prompting to install a temporary skylight for me. His crew was very professional. It reminded me of the old days coming from a family of contractors and commercial builders what service means. We certainly need more service like this company offers.

I called Aaron to take a look at my skylight that began to leak, he came out about an hour latter and gave me a quote that was so reasonable that I had him replace all three of them. He came out the next morning to do the job.

Skylights Are Our Specialty

Catalina Skylights repairs, replaces and installs skylights and solar light tubes for homes and businesses across Tucson and Pima County. Most roofing companies hand this work off. We do it every day.
When you call, you reach someone who works on skylights for a living. More than 30 years of Arizona roofing sits behind how we seal every curb and penetration, so we look at the skylight and the roof around it, and explain what we find before any work starts.
Some visits end with a simple repair. Some turn into a full replacement or a new install. Either way you will know what is going on over your head and what your options are.

Arizona Sun Is Hard On Skylights

Acrylic domes installed through the 1980s, 90s and early 2000s are now 20 to 40 years old. Tucson UV yellows them, crazes them and eventually cracks them, and the curb underneath gives up around the same time. From the ground it looks like a dim room. From the roof it looks like this.

Tile, Metal Or Flat Foam. Your Roof Type Is Handled.

A skylight is a deliberate hole in the part of your house that keeps water out, so how it meets the roof matters more than the skylight itself. Tucson roofs are not all the same, and neither is the detailing.

Solar Light Tubes For Rooms With No Windows

A solar light tube pulls daylight through the roof and down into the room below, which makes it the answer for hallways, entryways, bathrooms and closets that have no exterior wall to put a window in.
They install cleanly on flat and tile roofs, they cost less than a full skylight, and because they bring in daylight rather than heat they suit Tucson better than most people expect. A dark interior room becomes usable without touching a light switch.

Why Homeowners Call Us

A skylight sits in the middle of your waterproofing. Get it wrong and you own a leak for the life of the roof, which is exactly why most general roofers would rather not touch one. We would rather do nothing else.
Catalina Skylights holds a 4.9 star rating from more than 60 Tucson homeowners on Google, and same-day inspections are available when something is actively leaking.

Questions We Get Every Week

Short answers to the things Tucson homeowners ask before they call.

How much does it cost to install a skylight in Tucson?

Price depends on the size, the type of lens, whether you go acrylic or glass, and what roof system you have. Curb mount versus self-flashing changes the labor.

Most of the time a small skylight can be installed, material and labor, for less than $500. Treat that as a ballpark rather than a quote. We will give you a real number once we have looked at it.

My skylight is leaking during a storm. What do I do right now?

From the inside, grab a bucket. That is honestly it. Then wait until it is safe, and if you are not someone who gets on roofs regularly, stay off the ladder.

We can usually get out the same day to look, and we will bring a tarp if you need one. See skylight repair in Tucson

Is it cheaper to repair my skylight or replace it?

It comes down to the root cause. If a weep hole is blocked or a gasket has failed, a small fix can get you years.

About 90 percent of the time, though, you are looking at replacing the lenses. Repairing without finding the root cause is just buying time.

Should I get a solar tube or a regular skylight?

It depends on whether you want light or you want a view.

If you are just bringing daylight into a hallway, a bathroom or a closet, a solar tube is quick and easy. If you want to look up and see the sky, and you want it to be part of the room, then it has to be a skylight. See how solar light tubes work

Should I hire a roofer or a skylight company?

You would be surprised how many roofing companies call us because they will not put their own crews on a skylight. We install skylights for a number of roofing contractors here in Tucson for exactly that reason.

Without the right gaskets, the right sealants and the knowhow, a skylight is one of the biggest sources of leaks on any roof. You want the company that does skylights every day and understands the roof system it is going into.
