What To Tell Us
You do not need to diagnose anything before you call. That is our job. But a few details help us point you in the right direction before anyone drives out.
- What you are seeing. Water on the ceiling, a stain that comes and goes, a lens that has gone yellow or cloudy, or a crack.
- When it happens. Only during monsoon storms, or all the time. That difference tells us a lot.
- How many skylights. Most Tucson homes have two to four. Businesses often have far more.
- Roughly how old. If you do not know, the age of the house is usually close enough.
- Flat roof or pitched. Flat and low slope roofs bring their own set of problems.
A photo of the ceiling helps too, if you have one handy.
What Happens Next
We come out and look at the whole thing, not just the unit that is causing trouble. On most homes that means every skylight on the roof, the flashing, the curbs and the roof surface around them.
Then you get photos of what we actually found, along with what needs doing now and what can wait. If a skylight has years left in it, we will tell you that. Plenty of the calls we go out on end with a repair rather than a replacement.
What We Handle
Skylight repair for leaks, cracked lenses, failed seals and yellowed domes. Replacement when a unit is past saving, including acrylic to glass upgrades. New installation in rooms that have never had daylight, and solar light tubes for hallways, closets and bathrooms with no exterior wall.
We also handle commercial skylights, along with attic ventilation and the roofing work around a skylight, since that is where a lot of the leaks actually start.
