About Catalina Skylights
Catalina Skylights came out of a roofing career. Over 30 years working on residential and commercial roofs across the Southwest, the same problem kept coming back on job after job: the skylights.
Not because skylights are a bad idea. Because a skylight is a deliberate opening in the waterproof layer of a building, and most of the trades that install them do it a few times a year between other work. The flashing, the curb, the drainage channels, the way the unit ties into the roof system. Those details are the whole job, and they are the first thing to get rushed.
So we stopped doing it as a side item and made it the business.

Skylights Are What We Do All Day
There is a real difference between a company that installs skylights and a company that installs skylights every day.
Tucson has dozens of skylight brands and models going back thirty years, and almost none of them share sizing. Lenses that look identical are a quarter inch apart. Drainage channels are designed differently by every manufacturer. Flat and foam roofs need a curb detail that pitched roofs do not. None of that is complicated once you have seen it a few hundred times. All of it is a guess the first time.
That is why we are Tucson skylight specialists rather than a roofing company with a skylight page. The roofing background is what makes the roof side of the work right. The specialization is what makes the skylight side right.

Who You Are Calling
Aaron Holmes and Curtis Hampton run Catalina Skylights, with a combined 30 plus years in roofing and construction behind them.
When you call, you are talking to someone who has been on roofs for decades, not a call center taking a message. That is a smaller thing than it sounds like until you have tried to get a straight answer out of a contractor.
Why The Roofing Background Matters
Hands on experience with every roof system, and the underlayment in particular, is knowledge that gets earned one roof at a time. It is also the part of the job a homeowner never sees.
That experience is what makes a thorough inspection and a detailed scope of work possible, and those two things are what dependable pricing actually rests on. Most of the ugly surprises in this trade trace back to somebody not looking closely enough at the start. When the scope is right, the install goes smoothly the first time, and the reliability behind it means something.
