We showed up and explained it. A lot of people have had a contractor go up on the roof, come down, and hand them a number with no explanation. We take photos of what we found and walk you through it before anyone talks about price.
We did not oversell. Plenty of the calls we go out on end with a repair rather than a replacement, or with us telling someone their skylights have years left in them. That is a shorter conversation and a smaller invoice, and it is the honest answer more often than people expect.
It stopped leaking. Most of the leaks we get called out to have already been repaired once by someone else. Fixing it properly usually means dealing with the curb and the flashing rather than adding more sealant on top of the last attempt.
Why Reviews Matter In This Trade
Skylight work is easy to do badly in a way that does not show up for two or three years.
A unit can be set down, sealed around, and look perfect on the day. Then the first real monsoon hits, or the roof goes through a couple of summers of thermal cycling, and water finds the shortcut that was built into it. By then the person who did the work is long gone.
